I usually bring paper and a pen in my back pocket every time I go up and sing in front of the church with the worship team. This past Sunday during practice before the actual church service, I was personally getting words that touched my heart. Here were the songs..
Rend Collective – For All That You Have Done
“…
For all that You have done, for us
For every battle won
We’ll raise a song to bless Your heart
For all that You have done
..” –worshiptogether.com
This Is Amazing Grace Phil Wickham Worship Video with lyrics
“..This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me ..”–songlyrics.com
The “theme” that God laid in my heart was giving thanks to God by song or praising (singing) Him! Not just on Sundays, but daily. I shared after worship during “shares” that I like to sing a chapter of one of the 150+ Psalms each night before bed. I do this as part of my devotions (meditation) after listing my prayer requests/needs and praise reports (what I’m thankful to my Heavenly Father) of the “positives”/”blessings” each day (I reflect on them after each month and write a blog) the Lord provides (e.g. great seats to the Sound of Music theatrical performance at the Ordway Center last month for my family and I)…
..during my share, I encouraged people to “sing” to the Lord what your thankful to God for or just in conversation (e.g. angry, questioning, etc.. your Heavenly Father???)…just like David. He was a man after the heart of the Father.
What did the Lord bless you today, yesterday, this past week, this past month, this past year, etc.. with? Ever do it with song?
